I have Flexisign 7.6 What do I need to do to have it work on a new Apple iMac?

Answer by Sean Hill

FlexiSIGN is an application developed and meant for Windows operating systems. It will not run natively on Apple's MAC OS X operating system unless you virtualize the Windows OS inside Mac through a few methods:

  1. Parallels Desktop: http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/ - Windows will run in a Window while OSX is also running and the resources are shared.

  2. Bootcamp: https://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/getstarted/ - Windows will run as a standalone OS. IF you need Mac, a restart is required.

I can't find the COM port I need on my production manager and in cut plot also of the Flexi Signs Pro 7. When I open my production manager and try to add the port it does not appear, but when I go to my Device Manager, my COM port does appear. What can I do to get my COM port to appear again on my production manager and on cut plot?

J
Answer by Julia Bocchetta

From what is seems, the ports are stuck or frozen. This happens even with the USB ports because of unknown causes or drivers. My advice is to access the Device Manager again and simply remove the COM devices from the list. Don't remove the driver, only the device. Close Device Manager and reboot the computer. After it boots, the driver should be installed again and the COM ports will be available in the application as well.

I have a very antiquated system using FlexiSignPro 6x and a Roland PC60 which prints and cuts. The machine is only printing 25-75% vertical of the image I am sending. The left and right 25% are not printing. The cutter then cuts as if it had printed the entire image. I have re-installed Flexi on a different computer and have the same problem. When I run the test print through the machine it processes completely, just not on my images. I have been using this system for 8 years and it has worked fine. I have been trying to isolate if it is a program or machine issue. Any thoughts other than spending $$ to upgrade computer, cutter and software?

I have tried looking for troubleshooting information related to the FlexiSign Pro, but the results were unsatisfactory. I recommend using Google Search to download the user guide in PDF format. You will find all the configuration instructions posted in that file. Secondly, if you still have issues, contact the developer of the application using the following contact page: http://www.thinksai.com/contact-us?PRID=Eur_BREnglish&TN=ContactUsOffices&CN=Reg_Lang

In order to download logos from Internet in Flexi format, you can use Google search engine. You can access websites like Flexi Templates, SeekLogo, or All-free-download. Personally, I recommend you visit firstly the Flexi Templates website because you can find in their database many free logos from many category. All you need to do is to create an account and to download and extract the files using WinRAR or WinZip.

According to various specifications, it appears that FlexiSIGN-PRO supports 1,000's of printer/cutter drivers. I've also read on various websites and it appears that it can be used with a Titan 2 cutter. The FlexiSIGN-PRO application appears to be among many other cutters on the market.
